10:16pm: ソラヲミロ! Look at the sky!
This is a song that I've been enjoying lately. It's very inspiring, if a bit sappy.
Song lyrics are here )

tl;dr I am inspired by the song behind the lj cut.

10:10pm: So today...
I cooked.

More importantly, I bought utensils so I could cook.

I made Tzatziki. (Yogurt Salad) Tomorrow I bring it to work because I was asked to make some, and because I probably should try and cook once in a while. I don't really cook for myself (what's the point?) So it is nice to cook for other people.

Tomorrow is when I find out if I can cook, or if I just suck because I haven't in so long.

...Does cooking Matza Brei (Fried Matzo) count?

9:43pm: Because I didn't like the other politics test...

You Are a "Don't Tread On Me" Libertarian

You distrust the government, are fiercely independent, and don't belong in either party.

Religion and politics should never mix, in your opinion... and you feel oppressed by both.

You don't want the government to cramp your self made style. Or anyone else's for that matter.

You're proud to say that you're pro-choice on absolutely everything!

So uh,

I guess I'm due for an update hmm?

1) I quit my old job at SNK (the Machine Tool maker, not the Video Game maker...sorry, no flames for you Ted) because,

2) I got a new, better (40% Pay Raise GET) job at Sumitomo Electric Hooray!

3) I'm now 2 for 9, and that's all I'm gonna say about that. (yay pseudo-crypticness) :-)

4) Boy I'm tired. Haha.

For those of you who'll be in South Sioux City, Nebraska, I will see you there!

I Am A: Lawful Good Human (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-13

Dexterity-15

Constitution-16

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-14

Charisma-14

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Monks are versatile warriors skilled at fighting without weapons or armor. Good-aligned monks serve as protectors of the people, while evil monks make ideal spies and assassins. Though they don't cast spells, monks channel a subtle energy, called ki. This energy allows them to perform amazing feats, such as healing themselves, catching arrows in flight, and dodging blows with lightning speed. Their mundane and ki-based abilities grow with experience, granting them more power over themselves and their environment. Monks suffer unique penalties to their abilities if they wear armor, as doing so violates their rigid oath. A monk wearing armor loses their Wisdom and level based armor class bonuses, their movement speed, and their additional unarmed attacks per round.

12:49pm: The Past Three Weeks (ZOMG UPDATE)
Hey everyone,

Hope y'all are doing well in your respective endeavors.

Thought I'd give an update on what happened these past 3 weeks, and perhaps some plans for the future:

3 weeks ago:

- Went to New England, staying with Daremo, who graciously picked me up from the airport at like 11PM, and who was understanding that I had a cold and only had me testing until 2AM :P.

- Played at the Annual 9/11 Charity Tournament. Met all the cool people up in the Northeast. Some of them even like me! O_O

- *cough*wonthetournamentkindasorta*cough* He'Bros and Midwest REPRAZENT

- Devlin and Team Whiplash run a tight ship. Good tourney, ended early enough that I got sleep! A leading contributor to stopping colds.

- Got sicker at the tournament, however, a feat which I didn't think possible.

2 weeks ago:
- Got better from the cold (thank the lawd)

- Flew back to my parents' home, and happened to be on the same plane as Bakurai, a good friend of mine. Good times ^_^

- Got back to my parents' home, greeted by family.

- Spend Thursday with family and extended family *fuzzy warmth type thing* :)

- Spent Friday with family and extended family *MOAR fuzzy warmth* :)

- Saw Maternal Grandmother then, noticed how old she was getting :(

- On Saturday, visited the Faerellg, Sumiko, Daigotsurezan and many more friends, and ate at Shinsengumi (YUM, actual good ramen how I missed thee)

- Saturday night, ate with Chubbypanda, his lovely wife, The Suzukawa Connection and Faerellg and Sumiko, as well as jaybird (who I hadn't seen in many years). Frenzy Sushi is WONDERFUL, if a tad bit expensive (It doesn't help that I had two glasses of high-quality sake, and 5 orders of Toro Sushi...or that I paid for the dinner for everyone.)

- Sunday I ate breakfast at the Kettle (Manhattan Beach's only 24 hour diner and server of The Best Damn Banana Pancakes Period (TM)) with the family, and got new Tennis Shoes. Went and saw the RPG Club Outcast, as well as mattrygg and silversunshadow. Moar good times.

Last weekend:

- Flew to Dulles, was delayed 1.5 hours because of "mechanical errors"
- Murakumi was a saint and picked me up at 1:30 AM (Even tho I was scheduled for midnight!)
- Played in another tourney, T4'd after one huge mistake to Aaron Barto. *shakes fist at self*
- Murakumi ran a nearly flawless tourney, that might as well have been flawless. To murakumi: ACCEPT IT
- Had wonderful, slightly inebriated conversation with murakumi afterwards.
- Also talked to a Clintonite (but not the political one). Enlightening nerd conversation ensued.
- I will NEVER FORGET. That is all.

Plans for future:

- Either A) Find a better job or B)Enroll to get a masters in Japanese.

- Problem is, how do I decide which? I don't think I can switch jobs and get a masters.

- Be ok with being me, which I think I'm doing? I can't tell.

- Stop being lazy, and get to work on A) or B) ASAP.

As always, comments are welcome.

11:12am: No Car and No Sake make Dan something someting...
Hey all,

So it's been a while since my last update.

I am sick. But I'll recover eventually.

However, it turns out my car (95 Corolla) got sick recently.
The timing belt BUSTED while I was driving, causing me to coast to a stop on a residential street.

Take it to a repair shop on lo and behold the motor is scrap (Valves bent, etc.)

It looks like I'll have to dump the Corolla :-(

Which means, I must buy a new Car.
Which obviously means no Origins.

I'll be there at Gencon tho Dammit!

Also, I'm around 208 lbs at present.

First the good news:

Weeks loss = 2.0 pounds! :-D
Total Loss = 19.8 pounds! Groovy!

So, it's my birthday tomorrow (Yeah, I was born on St. Patricks day.) Yep, a whopping 26.

I wonder what I should do.

Should I call in sick?

Should I go drink on Friday? (Despite the bars being PACKED on Friday)

Should I go drink on Saturday?

Should I do something else?

Ideas appreciated.

6:04am: You ever had one of those dreams?
I had this dream last night.

It involved a woman. Who I knew if I ever actually met in real life I would have fallen head over heels for. First sight. That's it, I'm done.

When I woke up...I was very sad, like I had parted from someone I cared about deeply.

Damn. And the dream was such a nice one too.

I guess it's sort of silly but yeah. I felt the need to share.

Off to an early day at work! (Stupid Downtown Traffic making me wake up at 5:30 AM)
